  • Very beautiful place, be sure to visit. Metro walk 10-15 min on green line drawn on the sidewalk and would lead to the door of the Palace, very convenient and easy.

  • I had read the book of Pascal Quignard devoted to this Palace and was afraid to be disappointed! It was nothing! The Palace and its gardens are beautiful especially the great Gallery! That this is reflected in a large basin of water where swim huge carp and rare black swans. Although located on the edge of the city gives an impression of exceptional quietness. The ajuleros are beautiful as well as the many statues of marble attributed to Mignard. There are few people and there is a car park shaded front in which we could easily find a place. It is without doubt a must in Lisbon for anyone interested in the history of art at the gardens and architecture. We highly recommend this tour! The garden tour begins at 9:30 and the Palace at 10:30.

  • The property is located just outside, is but easy to reach with tram. Guided tours in English and French. Despite significant restoration jam recognizable transformation into a foundation and entrance fee. Worth a visit nonetheless, if you even want to see what has allowed himself the nobility from the great earthquake (is as the only Palace of spared). Photographing inside banned, what is not very bright, because there are enough photos of the rooms on the Internet.

  • Palace of the Marquises of Fronteira. This one off the beaten path, located in the outskirts of Lisbon, just before a Monsanto wooded area. Well worth a time to visit. Palace is occupied by rightful residents, so verify open days. The public showings usually on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm.
  • First time I went there I was with my wife and we visited the full palace, for this first visit I would give 5 stars. Something changed however and now they only usually open the garden for visits and not the Palace, the garden is wonderful but not has wonderful as the Lisbon Zoo garden which is free to visit and for this reason I'll give 2 stars instead.
  • Loved it! Very nice stuco ceilings and azulejos in the building. This building is a private building and can be visited inside with a guide before noon. In the afternoon it can't be visited anymore! Price is 4€ for gardens and 9€ if building too.
  • Not worth the trip...visited just the garden which wasn t that special. And its a bit far from the metro station

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
