  • The centro cultural de Belem is one of the fundamental points in visit in Lisbon, as the Belem Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery and the Museum of the sea

  • A collection that spans the entire 20TH century and enters the 21st century with grandeur and great impact. In the cultural centre of Belém of course.

  • A place magnificent, very careful and free (an Oasis today in day, everything is paid). A way to approach culture, non-traditional. Different ways of seeing things and understand art.

  • The most enjoyable visit to a contemporary art museum I have ever experienced. Great building, lots of artworks, explanations in English (both written and oral). Since the entrance is free of charge, you may choose to relex outside and come back. In the area there is a good bar and a restaurant with an amazing view.
  • While modern art can be very confusing sometimes when you don't understand the artists' vision, there's no harm in trying to appreciate someone's work, right? There is a huge amount of artwork housed inside Museu Berardo, from up and coming artists to famous and established artists such as Dalí, Picasso, Man Ray, and Warhol. The museum has quite a few floors, and over these floors various modern and contemporary art movements are covered. This is a big museum and for those with an interest in modern art, a good few hours can be passed here. Entry is free and you are allowed to take pictures to your heart's content (without flash or otherwise mentioned). Each floor can be accessed via stairs or lift.
  • Great design and lighting but the contemporary art installations sometimes are very hard to perceive... Not ideal for simple minds! Always free and open every day.
  • Hard to get much info on this -but so glad I found it -you will find Hockneys, Reillys and contemporary installations in abundance-gr8 stuff!- (it's also free admission! :-) ).
  • Impressive building. Will worth a visit. The modern art collection is also nice and has a few great pieces.
