Miradouro de Santa Luzia, Lisbon

4.3
Perched atop a hill overlooking the city, Miradouro de Santa Luzia gives you a view over much of Lisbon's medieval quarter, the Tagus River, and the nearby ocean. Climb to the terrace viewpoint and its basilica, and you'll find that you have a new perspective on the red rooftops of the Alfama neighborhood, as well as the city's spires that dot the landscape. Stop by the on-site church, which boasts a series of scenes and artwork constructed from blue tiles. Afterward, you can kick back with a drink at the terrace's cafe. The Miradouro de Santa Luzia is located in the neighborhood of Alfama. We got there rising up from the Praça do Comércio, passing by the Cathedral, by bars, shops and typical houses of the neighborhood. The Belvedere has a beautiful view of the surrounding buildings, churches and tb of the Tagus River. We got off the elevator of Santa Luzia, the lower part of Alfama to the side of the Tagus River. We passed interesting alleys, houses with clothes in the window and interesting graffiti on the walls. It's free and worth it!

Can be reached easily by tram 8. You can also reach it by foot but is quite tiring. Worth going there because the view is truly impressive.

Enjoyed it with a view of the Pantheon from the Tagus overview without having to pay. I hated the plague of rum-rui q liked more like to be harassed and bujigangas vendors. The CML I think should have more pride in the garbage and mto tourism too smell the urine

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
