Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.

  • It takes a bit of climbing (or you can take the amazing 28 tram for part of the trip) but it gets you above the city in a less crowded and equally interesting miradouro (and free as well!). We enjoyed...  more »

  • Beautiful views. The cafe kiosk takes about one half of the railing space. One of my favourite views of Barrio Alto and the castle. Worth the climb!
  • Amazing view point. Definitely worth seeing. There is a small city park, a church, bathrooms, a coffee shop and the most important, an incredible view.
  • Very nice view from this place. If you want to have good photo on Lisboa go there at morning hours. Also if you want to have good sunset photo it is good place
  • My favourite miradouro in Lisbon: not as busy as those around Chiado, and with a lovely view over the castle, the bridge and the city. Sit down, have a coffee/drink and enjoy.
  • Nice view over Lisboa. Have some sandwiches in the Kiosk there. They are good and the staff is very nice.
