Lisbon Flea Market, Lisbon

2.2
#16 of 63 in Shopping in Lisbon
Visit Lisbon's legendary flea market, Lisbon Flea Market, in operation since the 12th century. You could spend a long time exploring the stalls selling second-hand and brand new goods. Other vendors choose to lay out their wares on blankets. Find handmade artisan goods, CDs, books, clothes, stamps, coins, military objects, antiques, and furniture, among many others. Bargaining is sometimes possible, but many vendors have gotten used to tourists spending freely. Be careful of pickpockets in the area and keep your purses closed. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Lisbon holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Lisbon Flea Market and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

We went in the middle of the day not much shade and it was busy, but not a good atmosphere, we didn't see any of the treasures people were talking about just people trying to sell their rubbish.  more »

As a person who has gone through the flea market, Tokyo, Los Angeles and San Diego, Paris, Sao Paulo, Santiago, rumor has some expectation of what was heard, it went out. Antique for sale from the local arrival time is tourist-oriented feeling felt vividly, not too rare stuff, but it was disappointing that the incorporation rate of extremely low and behold had little. Travel schedule seem to need to afford it, to go out.

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
