  • A very nice viewpoint opposite of Bairro alto. A hidden garden in Lisbon which is worth a visit. Good upload!

  • A super nice place, quiet and with a great view! Indicated to walk with children and dogs. Great to read and relax.

  • Considering the number of people who receive the other Lisbon miradouros, this is a haven of peace. It's complicadillo to find and view may not be postal; but it is the best place to escape heat or tourists to simply read, or rest of the promenade by the Center. The best may be to sit in the shade of the trees and feel the wind to cool off while shake the branches of the trees. A beauty. Let us hope that mass tourism does not invade it.

  • The Jardim do Torel is a very calm viewsite during weekdays probably because it is mostly visited by locals. On the upper level of this park there are a few seats with a view, perfect for reading. On the lower level there is a cafe with a nice terrace and a little playground for the kids. On the same level you will find a beautiful graffiti of Fernando Pessoa. The Jardim do Torel is definitely a great place in Baixa for reading or simply to appreciate the view of the city.
  • Quiet and relaxed park, with a nive overview of town, comfy wooden benches and a small fountain/lake.
  • Peaceful park with views over the city. Bar set perfectly for sundowner.
  • Cascading garden at the top of the funicular, a bit sad, largely empty and a little unkempt, but strangely engaging to walk through on the way back down. There is a primary school embedded in the park.
  • One of the best gardens in Lisbon, great view and not many people go there. If you plan on walking there be ready for the legs workout, but it will be worth it. Note: there is a shortcut if you are going through R. Telhal, after the music store there is a gate with some stairs, if you go up you get to a school and you can keep going up until the garden :)

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
