  • Entered by chance and that's why I want to share here, since, in my opinion is a visit not to be missed for those coming to Lisbon. Starting with the sympathy of the ladies, guide the visitor (cost €5 with Guide). The monastery remains practically intact since your construction, in the 17TH century, when it housed Carmelite Sisters. The account tab a little Carmelite life, which I thought was very interesting to know. Fully lived there in seclusion. Has beautiful oratorios, relics, paintings, Portuguese and Dutch tiles. The Church is magnificent, although small. A lot of gold and a lot of wood from Brazil here. Overall, the place is home to blind women and with various neurological problems, what remains thanks to visits the convent receives. Recommend.

  • Yet, this convent of carmelites of the seventeenth is a must-see! We were 4 for this visit of quality, rather for adults interested in religious and baroque art. Or for a break in the cool and quiet. The building as much as the tiles from different eras or religious objects are very well preserved and highlighted. Today, the convent is occupied by a Dominican, making it both alive and as frozen in time. On the way out, lies on one of the hills of Lisbon with a superb view. Easy transport access. Open only in the afternoon.

  • A real discovery, which facilitated by a good plan that allows to find this magical close principle Real.L' home of the volunteers of the association is remarkable and one of her beautifully speaking the french, among others, will guide you throughout a discovery that does not. all beauty, Flemish and Portuguese tiles. An atmosphere of serenity fills the place and at the end a small shop with products from the convents: jams are to fall and the small cookies with lemon, a delight. And a haven of peace in this wonderful capital that seems inundated with tourists...

  • The exterior lapping not the richness of the interior, with a beautiful architecture with beautiful details especially on precious Chapel. Highlight the wonderful work of support for young and less young people with special necessdades of all kinds living there in sojourn, as one big family, under the tutelage of Sister Ana Maria, they dedicated with great generosity

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
