  • The light source is beautiful and deserves more attention, especially at night. The same for the Alameda d. Afonso Henriques, whose beauty should be further enhanced. This is the wider Lisbon Avenue, a fact which seems to me to pass unnoticed. With 120 meters wide is even one of the larger urban avenues in the world.

  • As title says. We went with the metro, just to see the fountain. Totally worth the trip. It's peaceful and impressive.  more »
  • An impressive source of see landscaped gardens to stroll quietly, although in slope but is also quietly to drink.

  • Very beautiful concrete fountain with lighting, statues, a view point of Alameda on top, a beautiful park in front, and a option to visit inside on Saturday afternoon. This is one of the chief attraction of Alameda and it is a must see when you hit Lisbon.
  • Gigantic fountain that amazes everyone when the water's flowing, otherwise it can be a bit disappointing . Summer nights by it are delightful. The refreshing mist and defining sound of water falling are just fantastic
  • Has potential, but with very poor maintenance and lots of graffiti does not worth a visit.
  • dirty grass with a lot of rubish and up on the stairs there is an unofficial public toilet - basic on the smell around there
  • Very nice plece to visit mainly in the evening. A lot of people runing and walking their dogs. The fountain is impressive.

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
