Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.

  • First time visit! The museum is gorgeous! Worth a visit! The tickets are a bit overpriced though but it's a good value for money!  more »

  • Home of Sporting Clube de Portugal, the stadium is very nice and of easy access through public transportation and by car, with plenty of paid parking space in the stadium's parking lot. It is usually very clean (except right in the aftermath of football matches), but some parts inside are in need of renovation. The mall doesn't have a big or varied selection of restaurants and shops. It has a nice museum of the club's history and plenty of club merchandise stores.
  • Nothing much to see. Hard to park your car around, traffic is usually caotic, and food options are miserable. Not the best crowd in the shopping mall either.
  • Very good cinema theatre. Few stores, but a good and cheap clothes store.
  • The best sports stadium that you can find in Lisbon that belongs to one of the oldest sports clubs in the world - Sporting Clube de Portugal!
  • What a beautiful stadium, there are no bad seats. Sporting the best team in the world.
