Estacao do Oriente, Lisbon

(4/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
Boasting an intricate glass roof design intended to replicate trees, Estacao do Oriente serves both as an architectural oddity and the city's busiest transportation hub. The brainchild of Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the station acts as a nexus for rail, subway, and bus lines around the urban area. Catch transportation here to get around town or to other parts of the country. Wander the eight platforms and many interior areas featuring a host of shops and cafes, or make your way over to the attached shopping center. Admire the twisting support structures and intricate features of the building, culminating at the top in the series of geometric patterns and arches. Use our Lisbon vacation builder to arrange your visit to Estacao do Oriente and other attractions in Lisbon.

  • Well located, very near Vasco da Gama Shopping Center, and tourist points of Lisbon. Last visit I found more clean.

  • Train station built by architect Santiago Calatrava, already in itself worth a visit. Multi centre/transportation in the eastern part of Lisbon and close to the shopping centre Vasco da Gama This inserted in the former Expo 98 area. A modern and functional architecture

  • Often I use this station. Has a modern architecture and attractive, although your interior give a feeling of "unfinished". In the lines, not very functional: if it rains, we get wet; If it's cold or heat, we wait for the train. The assessment can only be "medium".
