  • Bairro Alto is a wonderful and lively district. You can find a variety of restaurants and bars. The district ' wakes up ' only really starting from 7 o'clock in the evening and you can you entertained until the wee hours! If you are in one of the many hostels sleep it is useful to bring earplugs if you have a night early to bed would fall asleep by the fairly noisy and troublesome revelers!

  • Great place to have a drink, eat typical dishes, walk their streets at night. Able that day is unattractive but at night is full of people in the streets, drinking glasses or eating in restaurants. Both the drinks and the food is cheap.

  • The Alto neighborhood of Lisbon is pure contrast: large squares, narrow streets, wide streets, dark areas impassable at night, lively areas full of people and light. Many and varied restaurants, some of them with fado.

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
