  • A tiny shopping centre. From the outside it looks promising but once you are there, it's quite small and you won't find anything special.  more »

  • A great shopping mall on the small side. It provides some shops and restaurants. It also has toilet facilities, a very important feature having in mind the long centre walks. It's location is crucial as it is very central and also conveniently close to the underground station. The views from the top floor with the restaurants are really great. All in all it is a good place to enjoy a nice meal an recharge the batteries before continuing with the walking around the centre of Lisbon.
  • From the starters to the deserts, the food has been amazing. Eggs for starters, lamb and fried scallops for mains, and the chocolate cake was delicious. The hazelnut desert is "life changing"!
  • Nice area for a stroll, but also a good place to do a bit of shopping. There's a couple of really top notch Portuguese chocolatiers hidden nearby too!
  • Great mall in the city center! Shopping and dining. Nice bookstore downstairs!
  • These warehouses that are now actually a mall are in a vintage building that was recovered after a fire. The mall is not very big but some interesting brands are represented here. It's a cosy mall.

Where to stay in Lisbon

Check into one of Lisbon's grand city center hotels to position yourself well to explore the central historical districts on foot. To avoid the potentially high prices of some of the Old Town's central upscale hotels, try staying in a hostel instead. While some hostels have an upper age limit for their guests, they're affordable and oftentimes offer access to attractions on par with or better than bigger hotels. In the upper town, opt for one of the family-run bed and breakfasts, which provide affordable rooms and, as the name would suggest, include a meal as well.
