25 de Abril Bridge, Lisbon
(4.4/5 based on 1,600+ reviews on the web)
Longer than the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and quite similar to it in appearance, 25 de Abril Bridge connects Lisbon to Almada and services around 380,000 people daily. With a length of 2,277 m (7,470 ft), it's one of the longest suspension bridges in Europe. Because of heavy seismic activity in the region, it was built using the deepest foundation in the world, which reaches 80 m (262 ft) down into the riverbed. This massive red bridge can be a majestic addition to your holiday photo archive, or a picturesque backdrop for a picnic. You can cross it by car or by train. • I highly recommend. From the port for about 2 euros, you can cross to the other side, and then catch a bus 101 going straight to the statue of Christ, where the panorama stretches across Lisbon and the bridge

  • Good place to take pictures. Next to the standard of the discoveries. Remember the Golden Gate of San Francisco. This bridge connects Lisbon to Almada, crossing the Tagus River.

  • This bridge allows to enter the other part of Lisbon, which together with the bridge Vasco da range are the two that allow communication between the two parts of the city. Your travel offers on sunny days a broad view of both parties that the Tagus river separates the city.

  • It reminded me of the Golden Gate in a smaller version. The good thing about this one; I didn't see any fog.
  • The golden gate bridge of Portugal. Well, it's more like the bay bridge painted with the colors of the golden gate bridge. Anyway, there is an nice view of the brisge 10 mins from the belem train station.
  • Essential for my daily life. Too much traffic trying to use, a 3rd alternative should now be started.
  • A copy of the golden gate in the states, but still it remains an amazing structure. To see it better you have to cross it to Almada
  • This is often compared to San Fransisco's Golden Gate Bridge due to it's look and it's the connection between Lisbon and Almada. This has two decks and 6 lanes for the cara in the top deck and 2 rail tracks in the lower deck. Looks awsome in the day and night both and you would like to click pictures with the landscape of Lisbon or Almada.
