This was one of my favourite golf courses in Lisbon. On the site of an old monestary. The lay out was fantasic as were the views and old ruins around the course. Very sorry we only played this once. I... read more »
Superb location overlooking a stunning landscape. Can be very windy with wind noise whistling through gaps in the windows. Staff is lovely and eager to please, some times this can be a bit overwhelming especially at check-in with too many people trying to talk you through too many details of the hotel. Rooms are decent, not really exceptional. Confusing light switches will take some time to sort out. Bathroom is underwhelming with a tiny shower. Nothing complementary in the room except water (have to pay for nespresso machine pods, tea etc). A bit surprising for this caliber of hotel. Overall we've enjoyed our time here. We'd come back, hopefully the Ritz can iron out the kinks in the interim.
Pros: rooms, staff and food is really nice, with some parts of the hotel very beautiful. Cons: compare to other hotels same level, I found that it is not as luxurious, the pools have difficult access and it is in the middle of nowhere, so you can't enjoy the seaside easily and you are stuck in having the expensive food of the hotel. For children, it should be OK as they have playground but the outside pool was freezing in a very hot day. I wouldn't go back, although I did have a good time in a work conference.
Was here for a week long corporate event. The location is a bit out of the way, but for an event . . . just WOW. Great rooms, amazing venue as a old abby, amazing history. Great staff, modern rooms, looked like a great golf course (I did not play), multiple bars and restaurants. Highly recommended.
Beautiful place. Outstanding service.
Incredible 500 acre resort
