  • This place comes up as one of the top attractions around Porto, and although the design is nice, there's really little point in going. It is basically a fenced off part of the beach, with one adult an...  more »
  • In the sea, using the rocks is this pool built by architect Siza. This way you have not affected by any wild sea. The building what goes with it with the dressing rooms and a place where you can buy some food and drink is quite drab. The pool was closed in november. We could drink on the terrace.

  • More a work of architect Sisa Vieira, has a fantastic location, with a children's pool, and another for adults with Atlantic water, well cared for and clean, the bar/lounge is interesting and well supplied. In addition to being a National Monument Valley to visit the salt water of the Atlantic

  • Maybe the best outdoor swimming pool I ever been. It's possible to feel the beach environment and a good place to take children! The only downside is that is always crowded in summer season.
  • When it's neither too cold or too windy, and the sun is shining, this is the place to go for a swim. Designed on the edge of the ocean by a local architect, these sea water pools make up for a very pleasant experience. The water is usually much warmer than at the regular beach, given the pools' dimensions, making them more prone to sun heating.
  • Amazing pool. We went on a Thursday morning to avoid the crowds which went to plan. Very beautiful setting highly recommended.
  • Fun experience although the main pool was closed because the waves in the ocean were collapsing into the pool... Even so the place is beautiful.
  • Developed and built between 1961 and 1966, this building became one of the most interesting buildings to visit in Porto since Álvaro Siza designed it. As still a young architect, Siza was appointed to design a new swimming pool at Leça da Palmeira right between the rocks and the sea. He spent months drawing and feeling the environment so he could design a building that fitted perfectly along the shore. It's architecture made from the site and for the site. All the materials are raw. Concrete, wood and steel are all processed with traditional techniques of constructing.
