Praia Dona Ana, Lagos
(4.2/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web)
Golden sands, colorful rocks, and calm waters are characteristic of Praia Dona Ana, a small beach hidden from roads and development. Nestled amidst cliffs and surrounded by countless grottos and rocky outcroppings, the area is within walking distance of the city center and is accessible by a flight of stairs or by a boat. You can rent a lounge chair and an umbrella at the site, or just spread out your towel. When you're ready for a snack, visit one of the many cafes on the clifftops, which also offer views of the ocean. Look toward the horizon to see if you can spot groups of fishing vessels at work. Put Praia Dona Ana on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Lagos family vacation planner.

  • water is cold in October , beautiful view and clean beach with few restaurants close by. i may have to go back in July or august so I can enjoy snorkeling.
  • Definitely among the best beaches in the Algarve, calm waters and breathtaking scenery, frequented by tourists from all over the world, is a great option to enjoy a summer day.

  • For me, the picturesque Dona Ana beach is the most beautiful beach in Portugal. He is probably the most beautiful beach in Europe.

  • One of the most beautiful beaches within Portugal and has been rated at many blogs as one of the best in this world. The cliffs and flattened area is very adequate for enjoyment, sunbathing and also for splashing in the water. The cliffs and stones gives it an awsome look. Photographers would also get mesmerized on a sunny day. The water around the cliffs has corals and fishes. Fascinating creation of nature (though I have heard that a part of it is man-made).
  • Really nice beach. Doesn't feel like it is an ocean beach, waves are not so nasty, and the water is not so cold. Also very clear water. You should definetly check it out!
  • Nice beach quite close to the city. Very touristy, so you will find a lot of sunbeds to rent and plenty of space. The parking lot is quite small so is hard to find a place during noon.
  • One of the most beautiful beach in Portugal! A must visit! And just next to it, the Praia do Camilo. Another mandatory beach to visit in Portugal :)
  • Stunning views of this gorgeous beach. A bit more touristy than it used to be with walkways and sunbeds on the beach now. Still a lovely beach though and great for swimming.
