Conservation and education remain the principal aims of Parque Zoologico de Lagos, home to more than 120 species of animals and nearly 200 species of plants. Representing wildlife from all five continents, the zoo famously features a 60 m (200 ft) long tunnel that allows visitors to observe exotic birds in flight. The shady park serves as one of the region's major family-friendly attractions, housing a petting area that provides close encounters with primates and domestic animals. Come at feeding time to learn about animal behavior from the park's friendly and knowledgeable staff. The zoo complex includes a restaurant, snack bar, picnic area, and souvenir shop.   • The Zoo liked us very well. But the price is a little violent. You can see mainly birds and monkeys. Who wants to see elephants and lions, is wrong. The facility is beautiful

  • I have watched this place grow from a little bird park into a pretty fine Zoo... The Monkey Island in the middle is fabulous, as it lets the monkeys and you enjoy a lot of freedom, with no visible cag...  more »

  • Tranquil place with freely roaming small kangaroos and peacocks. Excellent place for a day out for the whole family.
