  • Also this point of interest is located on the square of Dom Henrique and that in itself not strange given the fact that Henry the navigator was involved in bringing the slaves from Africa to Portugal he earned a good living. The building dates back to 1444.

  • Remember a not-so-distant past and today Europeans shames us, this building which was old market of slaves remember the glorious Portuguese past of marine and discoverers, and one activity (Nothing glorious in this case) that led to traffic with the new world. All the powers of the moment participated in slavery with greater or lesser prominence. The past has no arrangement. We have to build the present than if we are responsible... we are better than our ancestors?-

  • Enjoyed the fish served at the local restaurant.
  • An absolute decepcion.el Museum is made up of vitrimas containing crappy photocopies of libros.solo explained in Portuguese and English. The question would be indifferent if not they charged 3e to enter. It seems nothing recommendable and a hoax

  • This renovated Museum of the slave Market gives us an image of the importance of the city of Lagos while slave input port and your role in the Portuguese discoveries. The adoption of new technologies and interactivity allows an excellent trip to the past and a reflection about the other forms of slavery which, unfortunately, still exist. Not to be missed!

Where to stay in Lagos

The historical city core of Lagos is packed full of colorful buildings and bustling streets, some of which date as far back as the medieval period. Though the hotels in the central district are on the expensive side, you can put yourself right in the middle of the city's best restaurants, bars, and tourist attractions by reserving a room there. The center and outlying residential neighborhoods also boast plenty of more affordable options, including smaller hotels, guesthouses, and family-run inns that offer fewer amenities but put you in good position to get out and about on foot. As Lagos is a relatively small town, you'll be within walking distance of both of its premier stretches of beach from nearly any lodging. Those with a car or transportation can get even further afield to experience other nearby coastal areas.
