Categories: Geologic Formations, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web
Get a glimpse of nature's best work at Caldeira, a volcanic crater with impressive island views. A road takes you straight to the top if you want to minimize walking. Once there, you can choose to hike around the crater's perimeter or head to the observation deck at the end of a tunnel. Clear weather makes for the best experience here, but if the clouds block your view, try waiting half an hour--that is often enough time to get better visibility. • Beautiful landscape, with a wonderful view of the island of Pico. If it is not cloudy it is mandatory to make the boiler perimeter trail marked and easy movement. Attention to the changes of time, take windbreak. The descent to the boiler is possible but requires a guide. Worth seeing because it's very beautiful.
