  • Located in the historic centre of Guimarães, Gothic Porch built in the reign of d. Afonso IV, to commemorate the battle of Salado, fought in 1340. The cruise runs in 1342, was offered by Pero Edwards, Guimarães dealer based in Lisbon.

  • Under a lot of rain we went to visit the center of Guimaraes. In the middle of Praça da Oliveira this monument draws attention.

  • Absolutely magical inside. Go at the end of the church and look at the yellow light coming from the right windows....fabulous!

  • D. Afonso IV to commemorate the Portuguese participation in the battle of Salado (1340), ordered the construction of this monument in the year 1342. The cruise which houses was offered by Peter Edwards Guimarães dealer. The granite monument, consists of ogival arches supported by four canopy that develop into four columns.

  • Right in the historical centre of the city, we can appreciate this monument having a coffee in one of the many terraces of the Plaza. Very nice
