  • Would we once a fantastic views of the city down to the sea, without these with visitors such as one climbs brave the steep streets after studies of the urban plan, paused and puffing to share, the Monte and breathes a lot of local flavor for this! Unfortunately, it is finally at the fortress before closed gates (!), reverses, the road goes up a few steps, where a small complete path passing leads to a pretty little garden to the greatest viewing and photo stop points, after a modern Café and a children's playground were. The door on the other hand, it has climbed hopeless, is then blocked, but what solls. Certainly not a "must see", but the sprawling views of Funchal in the afternoon sun was already unique and as I said, no hype!

  • It's a very steep climb to the fort and unfortunately it isn't open at the moment due to restoration, it would have been nice if some information had been advised before the walk to it.  more »
