  • This fortress-Fort can be seen from many places in Funchal. It is built on a high rock and pretty much so I was wondering there climb. The climb is steep and long, heavier than it seems from the bottom. Top with trails and Fort with stunning views of the city and ocean. In the Fort you can go, in some sectors there is no login, is there any military buildings. In General, the Fort itself inside not as interesting as the city. I advise to visit!

  • It is certainly a place that deserves to go, either walk (the final slope is somewhat steep but is an experience very Funchal) or by taxi or other means. The views are very good and there is a bar where you can enjoy rather calmly after the effort.

  • Certainly we will not enter the fortress but the view is worth the corner. A short stop at the Café upstairs is recommended. friendly and relaxing the ascent on foot, however, is long for people who have difficulty walking. Take a taxi
