  • In the face of the cable car to Monte, pleasant restaurant perched terrace which offers a beautiful view of the sea below. Madeiran, and international cuisine do not rely on the card that can put off and suggest that there is nothing original, specialities of the island are there and of good quality. The service is attentive, although a bit slow with servers/waitresses speaking good English. An address to recommend with pretty decent prices

  • From this point it is best to start visiting the island. Everything you need you get in a nutshell from the origins. discovery of the island after the modern era. There are wax figures (very realistic).

  • Overall good experience, just had to asked for a wifi password three times. Restaurant was pretty empty during our visit (late April).
  • With scant artefacts, it's hardly a museum but a decent story centre. Well worth €5 and 1.5 hour.
  • Loved this museum and learned a lot about the history of the island. It wasn't a giant space, but they make good use of the space that they have.
  • Great gift shop and cafe to cool down from the sun. You can sit outside with a nice coffee if you prefer and watch the cable cars go up and down the mountain or watch the cruise ships in the harbour. Great friendly service.
  • One of my new favorite places on this planet. We spent a short day exploring this beautiful town. I recommend the violin restaurant by the gondolas first pillar. The steak on the stone was phenomenal (be ready to flip it yourself and cook it to your own taste. If you like your meat well done, cut it into thinner slices).
