  • Rather sober external vision, Brown volcanic color and white lime whitewash, it presents a great profusion of gilding in the chapel of St. Sacrement.D' elsewhere it's amazing contrast because the Cathedral seems fairly dark overall with the yellow gold sculptures of wood from the two aisles of the background.

  • The inside of the cathedral only has it's lighting switched on during mass and shortly after mass. When we came in it went completely dark so we saw absolutely nothing of the ceiling or the gothic pai...  more »
  • I was here on a Sunday morning in March 2017. Before the mass began, there was a children's choir. A church that is used comes to life. The music and the singing of children makes the picture complete. Of course there are many more other things beautiful. The choir is beautiful. Enjoying, I have to be watching. What a pomp and splendor. The wooden benches are hard and I leave the Cathedral again.

  • It's placed in the old zone near the Atlantic Ocean and an the Catedral Albergheria. The staff îs very polite and very effecient ready to satisfy all the demands of the clients. From the hotel terasse on the 5 floor there is a panoramic vistaview of a large area of the town. The services are functioning excellenty.
  • Cosy place, with a great panoramic view open to all guests on the top floor.
  • Not sure if they've updated this hotel since my visit in 2006. Back then it was quite dusty. Breakfast wasn't anything special.
  • Amazing building
  • Although the price is interesting quality is low. Half renovated, I don't want to imagine how it was before. WIMP mattresses, bath with foul-smelling of plastic shower curtains. Simple simple breakfast. All dark and warm. Carpet everywhere. That Yes, it is in the heart of Funchal in front of Sé (Cathedral)
