  • I went to the Sanctuary just today with my boys. Thinking of the Holy week and the crowd we could find we left at 13.00 with a bus leaving every hour from the bus station rede expressos right near the metro blue line ... Zoo. Beautiful Sanctuary ... just as nice holy mass where took place the first appeared to the Shepherd children (Holy Mass in Portuguese) ... The only thing that left me puzzled is the lighting of candles. Over a continuous fire embers basically light the candle and within 2/3 seconds ... There's more!!! Gone ...! I had spent 10 euros to light a candle to relatives and friends back home and see them fade as well ... When right next to them beg ... Makes me think a bit! Aside from that .... All very nice, relaxing in an atmosphere nothing short of magical!!

  • The Basilica is very beautiful and majestic. Abroad has statues of four Apostles and panels with various moments in the life of Christ. The stained glass Windows, inside, show scenes of the apparitions of our Lady to the shepherds. Is in the Basilica are the remains of these pastors (Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia).
