Praia de Faro, Faro

(4.1/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web)
Take the single-lane road bridge to Praia de Faro, actually a small island that packs a punch. In addition to the beach, you'll find food, shops, bars, and accommodation all squeezed into a small area. The island itself features a seaside coast and a lagoon coast. While many visitors head to the seaside, do not miss out on the water sports and easy swimming in the lagoons. The locals' bright, colorful boats floating along the water complete this picturesque site. Note that the island gets especially crowded on weekends. • The long spit of sand is crossed by a road. Reachable with a bus on one side by the lagoon on the other in a very long and very wide beach. A few bars. For lovers of the beach and the sea a rich menu

  • Praia de Faro can be reached on the bus but it's a very average beach with just a small strip. If you want sea and sand then there are a hundred better beaches not far away further along the coast. Pr...  more »

  • Wonderful Algarve Beach! The problems are the access and parking space. To get to the beach you have a one way traffic bridge and in the summer this makes everything really complicated. Also, once you get through the bridge there's a good chance you end up taking a whole hour to get q parking space.
  • Several options for having a meal and a great beach with warm water
  • Very beautiful beach, with a nice view over the surrounding lagoon or the ocean depending on the side of the island you choose.
  • Great long beach but lacking activities. Free parking and free showers. Kids really had fun.
  • Cool beach. Really busy. Lots of places to get a drink or some food. From Faro, take the 14 or 16 bus from the bus station by the trains.
