Praia de Faro, Faro
(4/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web)
Take the single-lane road bridge to Praia de Faro, actually a small island that packs a punch. In addition to the beach, you'll find food, shops, bars, and accommodation all squeezed into a small area. The island itself features a seaside coast and a lagoon coast. While many visitors head to the seaside, do not miss out on the water sports and easy swimming in the lagoons. The locals' bright, colorful boats floating along the water complete this picturesque site. Note that the island gets especially crowded on weekends. • Very long sandy beach with free parking along the beach. At the beginning of the beach, public toilets are available. The area is like a long peninsula, on the beautiful paths along lead. If you go the the paths along several KM, you get rewarded at the end with a fantastic lagoon.

  • This beach is easy with the mainland directly from Faro (capital of the Algarve) awesome location and super combined. Right before bent on the way to the airport and later via a bridge connection directly to the beach (no caravans allowed). The beach is also very extensive and you will find his quiet :-)

  • We arrived in Faro a few hours early for our flight home so decided to drive to Faro beach. What a delightful surprise. Amazing views and a lovely beach. Coffee shops too. Worth a visit for a day not ...  more »

  • Wonderful Algarve Beach! The problems are the access and parking space. To get to the beach you have a one way traffic bridge and in the summer this makes everything really complicated. Also, once you get through the bridge there's a good chance you end up taking a whole hour to get q parking space.
  • Several options for having a meal and a great beach with warm water
  • Very beautiful beach, with a nice view over the surrounding lagoon or the ocean depending on the side of the island you choose.
  • Great long beach but lacking activities. Free parking and free showers. Kids really had fun.
  • Cool beach. Really busy. Lots of places to get a drink or some food. From Faro, take the 14 or 16 bus from the bus station by the trains.
