Old Town Faro, Faro

4.2
#1 of 10 in Historic Sites in Faro
Walk the cobbled streets of Old Town Faro and encounter centuries-old architectural sights, Roman passages, cozy cafes, and a museum with archaeological findings. The site features the oldest horseshoe arch in Portugal and a 16th-century convent. Note the many houses decorated by flowers as well as the meandering paths and alleys; take a stroll down the shopping lane at the town center. You can have a meal at one of the typical Algarvian restaurants, or just grab a coffee along the riverfront. • Walking a beautiful walk through the old town. Museum, Cathedral, various places. We liked it. Large free car park in the East of the old town, very occupied.

  • Faro's old town offers different possibilities. If necessary, you can delicious food go, strolling through the streets with mosaic floors, or rummage through the many small shops. I would argue time there is something for everyone. There is also a small port with adjacent parking spaces. Who has interest in architecture and stylish buildings comes here also at his own expense.

  • Faro will enchant you with its narrow streets full of people (during summer months) and the varinegozi and restaurants adjacent. Relax near the port, on the Boardwalk that reaches the sea and enjoy a beer watching the stars.

  • Is a good place for a relaxing sunny afternoon if you want to sit at a table outdoor enjoying a soft drink
  • Dating from the moorish occupation, the old town in bounded by old city walls and paved in ancient cobble stones. While renovation work is ongoing and there is always some older dilapidated building being worked on, there are also many restaurants and bars Where you can escape the heat.
  • Beautifully kept, historic and easy access. The church and museum are fantastic and the archway is magnificent.
  • My fisrst time in porchagel faro i loved it and the people who live there and lots of English and irish live there and go there for holidays it's history old fashioned small buildings shops and restaurants hostels b & B hotels nice peace full and good beeches and sea lots of boat trips and places to visit, I'll be back and I reckomend it to all paul p England 💙 😎 👍
  • The most beautiful place in Faro. Big contrast with the rest of the city which is in big decay. I hope that one day the rest of Faro will be more appealing to see as well.
