Walk the cobbled streets of Old Town Faro and encounter centuries-old architectural sights, Roman passages, cozy cafes, and a museum with archaeological findings. The site features the oldest horseshoe arch in Portugal and a 16th-century convent. Note the many houses decorated by flowers as well as the meandering paths and alleys; take a stroll down the shopping lane at the town center. You can have a meal at one of the typical Algarvian restaurants, or just grab a coffee along the riverfront. • visit with the little train, interesting but a bit heterogeneous, with however a good introduction to old town of Faro

  • On each trip to Faro, the visit to the old town is always a must. Is one of your little oasis in the urban chaos in which rampant construction and unplanned transformed the city. Is built on Roman ruins, has old houses and even some dry wall. The visit to the Cathedral is a must. The Castle bar is a good place to stop for a drink overlooking the ria Formosa.
