  • Castle whose construction began after this land was reconquered from the Moors in the 12th century, in the early 14th century was built the fortress wall surrounding all settlement. In the 16th century, the castle was destroyed and rebuilt soon zemeltrjaseniem in the style of the Italian Renaissance. I do not know how to look at those veremena Castle, but a modern version of my eye was not. It can be seen that the Castle plastered. It is logical that in the 16th century no one wall fortresses nor shtukaturil. Apparently, this is the result of the work of our contemporaries, and this was done without proper respect for antiquity. Actually, the castle is the entire architectural ensemble, and a building is only the Paço Ducal residence of the then owner of the settlement. Now there is a museum which is open in summer only 2 days a week, and winter-only one day a week. On the day of my visit, it was closed. The walls of the Castle, by the way, I am pleased, it looks very natural, ancient, it can climb and get around almost the whole of its perimeter. Good views of the surroundings, the Castle because is on quite a high Hill.

  • I went to the castle of the contest influenced villages of Portugal. I didn't see anything special in addition to a castle? Fortress? imposing? Alto. Some houses around. nothing special. I'm sorry.

  • Castle with the famous Bragança rope and knot made out of masonry. Spectacular view from the top. Closed on Saturdays!
  • Rare shape compared to most Portuguese castles. Breath taking view from up there. Castle is closed during lunch time!
  • There's not much to see, unless you absolutely want to see a historical place where a treaty which ended one of the civil wars in Portugal was signed. Rectification: The treaty is of course, not in the castle of Evoramonte.
  • Very small but cute castle.
  • Beautiful mountain and tiny village at the top
