(4.1/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
One of the oldest buildings in the city, the Gothic Se Catedral de Evora forms part of a complex of historical buildings that are on the World Heritage List. This building, the largest medieval cathedral in the country, features two eye-catching towers, each with a different conical spire. The building's cloisters, completed in the 14th century, include marble statues of the four evangelists and a polychrome statue of the Virgin Mary. Take the cloisters' spiral staircase to reach the upper story, which offers unobstructed views of the cathedral complex and the surrounding landscape. After you see the view from the top, descend to the cathedral museum, noted for displaying a 17th century reliquary encrusted with 840 diamonds and 402 rubies. • From the roofs of the Cathedral you can see the whole city and surrounding area. Visit rooftops cloister, inside the Cathedral, and Museum at very reasonable price. Food in the restaurant of the Museum at very affordable price, and excellent food

  • Despite being a very interesting monument that we have to purchase tokens to illuminating the chapels is ridiculous.

  • Stunning church established in the mid 1500s. Very medieval! It was 3,50€ to walk about the tower, cloister and actual church portion. The steps to the beautiful vista overlooking miles around Portugal are tight! But the view is 100% worthwhile. The cloister is also lovely and there's a WC as well as a tiny faucet if you want to refill your water. The vending machine doesn't work. It was absolutely quiet and barely anyone was there when we went-- so perfect for pictures and being in your feels. Highly recommend
  • A splendid church in Evora. I enjoyed the fact that it was very quiet and not jammed packed. It is a bit off the beaten path, and is a great addition to an Evora day.
  • The tower offers view of the city of evora, with beautiful altars, I love the “rope” of hanging the lamps especially.
  • One of the most beautiful churches in Portugal. It's fantastic architecture and have a fantastic views on top..
  • When visiting Evora the cathedral is a must.
