  • This is the symbol of Elvas to me and the most strong reason for why people need to visit Elvas! You may not be able to see the same kind of place in the other countries.  more »
  • Valley by curiosity of the construction, by the recent refurbishment, for the wonderful view. Make this visit very early, and preferably in the spring or fall. It's pretty cold in the winter and I imagine very hot in the summer and the course is great and with many very curious stairs the paintings made by soldiers in the years 60.

  • The opinion that I am going to carry out this incomplete but I think that it may be useful to other travellers as. We got to visit the fortress on February 28 and it was closed (on a poster put an explanation of why they were closed and was not very clear to us). The views from here to the city are precious and deserve much the penalty! Also outside of the fortress is worth to be seen.

  • Excelente arquitectura militar portuguesa do século XVII. A vista é fabulosa.
  • Uma jóia do patrimonio. Vista espetacular e um edificio único a visitar.
  • Surprising strong located near Elvas, recently restored. It is impressively large. There are spectacular views of the city of Elvas and Badajoz in the distance. They built with technical assistance from the British to defend Spain from Portugal.
