Portugal dos Pequenitos, Coimbra

#1 of 17 in Historic Sites in Coimbra
At Portugal dos Pequenitos, explore a miniature world displaying scaled-down versions of some of Portugal's most important monuments and buildings. The attraction was built in 1940 in honor of the nation's people, history, and cultural influence. While best suited for children, who will enjoy interacting with the exhibits and feeling large in this small world, adults will also find the historical value of the displays interesting. View a copy of the famous window from the Convento de Cristo in the historic city of Tomar, various monuments from the capital of Lisbon, and traditional houses. Check out the costume museum which includes over 300 pieces of miniature clothing, the naval museum full of tiny ships, and the furniture museum with small pieces handcrafted from exotic woods. Also, stop by the different pavilions dedicated to the former Portuguese colonies. The park lacks covered areas, so keep this in mind on hot days. • I visited this place when I was little and I was delighted with custom houses. Since then it is with pleasure that reviewed this place where "the finger" of the New State ideology is demonstrated. It's fun for the kids and to remember other times.

  • An awesome place to visit with children of all ages. We went with a group of adults (9.95€ each) with 1 toddler. There are many people there with little kids so be sure to keep an eye on yours because in a split second they can easily disappear among the small houses and castles. It was a really cute place, many miniature houses and churches where children can go in and bigger versions (but still mini) for adults and children to see a little bit of Portugal's history. All in all it was a wonderful experience and as a foreigner I had a lot of fun! Would recommend to visit at least once!
  • Not bad but not really great. If you're go have a look. Poor collection, but the miniature models are nice.
  • I thought this was such a let down. Took us forever to get tickets, once in we were disappointment to see that nothing had descriptions, nothing was interesting, and nothing was cultural. They selected very weird, off the beaten path countries to represent. I've been to these small city like places in other countries and always loved them. I would not recommend this to anyone. Even with children.
  • If it was my daughter reviewing this would get 4.5 stars but for the older people in the group not so much. A blatant and poorly executed celebration of empire with no attempt at highlighting or addressing the wrongs of the past, which improved slightly when focusing on Portuguese culture and traditions. Also they have a couple of trains running around the park that kids will love.
  • A fun couple of hours for younger children and reasonably inexpensive for what is offered. A family ticket of 2 adults and 2 children will cost €22. Whilst young children will find the many minuture houses entertaining to run around, older children and teenagers will likely find the park quite boring. The educational element of the park is surprisingly quite limited and you'll be pushed to squeeze 3 hours of enjoyment out of the this small theme park.
