we LOVED it! I thought the music would all be extremely sad, but it wasn't. Some of it was melancholic, some was even cheerful, and all of it was so beautiful! The venue was cozy and the singers and musicians were awesome. At the end we even got a little treat of delicious port wine.

The right place for those who want to know what Fado is. 50 minute show. Pleasant atmosphere. An intimate and small place. The show includes a historical explanation of the music with examples. For those who come to visit and want to taste the music.

The Fado ao Centro is a music school and a well-known house of the typical Fado from Coimbra. It invites the visitors to witness the open rehearsals that happen daily at 4 p.m. The live concerts are every afternoon at 6 p.m. Reservation is highly recommended. The house also offers performance under appointment.
