  • Who goes through the area of the University may not realize the simple façade of the new Cathedral of Coimbra and you will lose a very pretty to look at. The new Church is marked by strong and simple lines and has four statues of Jesuit Saints. The upper part of the façade was completed only in the 18th century, has Baroque decoration and contrasts with the lower parts, in Mannerist style. But it is on the large interior that the best images are displayed, either by the huge altar, is by the quality of the works (statues) carved. Worth the visit!

  • The New Cathedral is very beautiful. Worth the visit, but it's nothing out of the ordinary. It was very nice the entry be a contribution of $1 euro. Unlike the old cathedral that costs $4 euros, which we decided not to know.

  • Very impressive to See New Cathedral of Coimbra. Very beautiful internally too. But it's not so new so your 1598 construction began. Currently the main ceremonies take place here

  • 1 euro per person to visit a church, it's getting the racket. It's a good thing we do that with our architectural masterpieces that are our French cathedrals.
