  • Historic site and worth a visit especially if you go during the medieval festival during the last week of August when the whole place comes alive. Castro Marim is a lovely little town with some great ...  more »
  • By visiting this fort on the heights of Castro Marim and in front of the Church, you will discover interesting things about historical and cultural. A lot of work will still be needed to rehabilitate this war set. But there is already a space dedicated to teaching in one of the buildings still strong. A small chapel is also worth visiting. And especially to admire the formed landscape of salt marshes in the colors. To think that opening hours there.

  • This castle is very badly used, is almost abandoned, you can walk inside the walls but beyond the walls there is nothing to see, and there's some garbage that could be removed so he could receive more tourists.

  • I discovered this castle by accident on my way to Vila Real de Santo António. Funny, because I didn't enjoyed the city but I loved the castle. Feels very authentic and the views from there are amazing!
  • Costing €1.10 each this castle is a cheap, but well worth it treat. Be aware that Portuguese castles don't all have barriers on their barricades. This has none! Good views of the Spanish-Portuguese border, salt pans and surrounding countryside make this an amazing visit. A small shop and museum are included too.
  • A great place to visit all year long but even better on the last weekend of August. Come and take part in the "Dias mediavais" mediaeval days festival!!!
  • Castelo magnífico ! Vale a pena visitar .
  • Very interesting castle with amazing views of the Spanish border and the rest of the Algarve. No better way than to spend €1:10!
