  • Full of beautiful/tasteful things from different periods and countries, this is another easy museum of Cascais. The cloister is a lovely place to sit on a hot day.  more »
  • There are few people who tend to visit it, but after having done us I can say that it is a gem that is worth making it for only €3 per adult. Children under 12 do not pay. The only problem is that the upper floor is being restored does not have been able to visit it. Anyway if you like the world of the romantic era and you like to transport you to that time, this is a good place to do it.

  • Stunning view, nice beach, flux and reflux of sea makes it interesting...
  • Some stunning interiors as well as the fairytale facade. Great beach inside the palace grounds, just under the bridge.
  • Amazing place to take your kids. Inside Cascais' largest natural park, it is a good place either to start or to end your visit to the park.
  • Very nice building, too bad i had no time to check it closely
  • Beautiful interior and very interesting, esp. if you enjoy history.

Where to stay in Cascais

The seaside resort town of Cascais, one of Lisbon's wealthiest suburbs, offers solid options for both enjoying the sun and surf and getting away from the bustle of the capital. By staying right near the beach, you'll be within easy walking distance of both the soft sand and the restaurants and bars of the town center. Most of the bigger hotels along the waterfront and near the marina provide balconies and sweeping views over the ocean as well. However, you can also check into a smaller guesthouse for a lower bill and equally good location in the center of town. Grabbing a room at one of the guesthouses or hotels in nearby Estoril offers a similar beachfront experience not far from Cascais itself, plus this location offers more in terms of choice.
