  • I knew that name range as steps in the world of funboard Cup there were organized in the early 1990s and 2000s. So I could not resist to go discover it during my last stay in Lisbon. Passing through Cascais made me fear the worst, but ultimately the beach was consistent with my expectations: long, beautiful, natural, wild. The sand is clean, fairly thin, blond. Swimming is supervised. A beach bar offers drinks and snacks + toilet (sometimes crucial :-)). The waves were quite irregular, but already powerful level surf, it wasn't a very good day. There is thus the potential. At the end of the beach, a small restaurant just off is adjacent to the yacht club. You can enjoy excellent calamari and a drink on a large wooden deck. A trail runs along the sea and goes back on the cliff, but I had more time to follow. A very nice day to all points of view. To go to Guincho, three solutions: bike (rental right in front of the station, but it must have an ID card on itself), taxi or bus (same close station). We had planned taxi and return by bus, but have missed the last bus. And more taxi. So we started to walk, to then succeed to catch a taxi on the fly. Indeed, in the evening, taxis commute Cascais--> seaside restaurants (including some to Guincho). Phew, we caught miss our train to return to Lisbon. The bike is probably the best solution, with a nice walk, not too long
