Where to stay in Cascais

The seaside resort town of Cascais, one of Lisbon's wealthiest suburbs, offers solid options for both enjoying the sun and surf and getting away from the bustle of the capital. By staying right near the beach, you'll be within easy walking distance of both the soft sand and the restaurants and bars of the town center. Most of the bigger hotels along the waterfront and near the marina provide balconies and sweeping views over the ocean as well. However, you can also check into a smaller guesthouse for a lower bill and equally good location in the center of town. Grabbing a room at one of the guesthouses or hotels in nearby Estoril offers a similar beachfront experience not far from Cascais itself, plus this location offers more in terms of choice.

  • You can rent a bycicle and ride in Cascais center- There is a good tourism information center in the commerce center. The marina is "chic" place with restaurant inside and a good view to relax .  more »
  • Nice to go for a walk around the Marina. Clean with a few shops etc around it. Some nice boats moored there.  more »
  • It was very windy the day we visited. Lots of yachts and smaller craft plus shops and restaurants. Good views of Cascais from the end of the Quay.  more »

  • Excellent. Loads of restaurants and shops. Well situated near the centre. Excellent place to go for a drink in the late summer afternoons.
  • Nice place to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee while appreciating a view over the sea and boats. It used to have much more restaurants and bars but unfortunately, it much emptier now. Still a good place to visit with kids and family during the weekend.
  • Beautiful marina. Very nice restaurants. Usually windy and unfortunately kind of quiet night life wise.
  • Nice choice of restaurants. Friendly staff at the reception. Car parking is expensive though.
  • Very pleasant to walk down to the marina and enjoy a drink at a bar/coffee shop. Bit too quiet for a early November morning!
