  • It is worth to visit the market in the middle of the day. Fruits and vegetables should not look, like in the supermarket. Connected fish market is authentic, you can see fish, looking in vain in the shop. Then best in the restaurant looking out the seafood and prepare to leave!

  • We wanted to try it once. In the restaurant grilled garoupa has tasted very well us, now we wanted to barbecue with friends even this fish. Handy when you have no idea how to do that. Maria Conceiçã Marques had a suitable fish on her counter. She supplied us with the necessary information and tips, the fish was top class.

  • This place is amazing! But make sure you go on a Wednesday or a Saturday (market days) otherwise it's dead. I wish the hours/days were publicized more clearly. If you are there on the right day it is definitely 5 stars and made me feel like a Cascais local while I was there.
  • Great market with fresh products on Wednesday and Saturday. There are great little restaurants inside. Special events happen throughout the year, like beer festivals, etc.
  • Fresh products that you expect in a street market, gastronomy restaurants and food court. Every Wednesdays and Saturdays. A must in Cascais. Produtos frescos de qualidade, restaurantes e open space esplanada para degustar. Todas as Quartas e Sabados.
  • On Wednesdays and Saturdays mornings you can but fresh fruits and vegetables. It is such a lovely place to visit on these days. You just need a bit of patience to park.
  • Mercado Da Vila Cascais is an indoors / outdoors market where you can find drinks and bakery all week long, and on Wednesday and Saturday they set up fruit and vegetable stalls, as well as butchery and fish stores. There are also other events going on during holidays. They have a Facebook page where they announce this.

Where to stay in Cascais

The seaside resort town of Cascais, one of Lisbon's wealthiest suburbs, offers solid options for both enjoying the sun and surf and getting away from the bustle of the capital. By staying right near the beach, you'll be within easy walking distance of both the soft sand and the restaurants and bars of the town center. Most of the bigger hotels along the waterfront and near the marina provide balconies and sweeping views over the ocean as well. However, you can also check into a smaller guesthouse for a lower bill and equally good location in the center of town. Grabbing a room at one of the guesthouses or hotels in nearby Estoril offers a similar beachfront experience not far from Cascais itself, plus this location offers more in terms of choice.
