  • We had a rainy day on São Miguel and so it was decided to visit this museum. From the outside, everything looks very simple and totally inconspicuous and expected basically a boring Museum of folklore class. When you enter, it gets you out totally impressed again. And that for several reasons. 1. is the Museum very large. 2. it's in a kind of loving so prepared and managed, that the 2 or 4 euro (?) Entry are really little. 3. you get explanations that you otherwise not get so much of the Azorean culture and traditions will be a much clearer for much and moves through the Museum (if you want). A really great experience with enthusiasm guarantee not only on rainy days.

  • For those who know the village "José Franco" in Mafra, little will have to gain from this visit, are both very similar. The input is performed by touching the Bell and are received by the respective owners ... the feeling that we are we into the garage of someone, however readily perceive that it's nothing that we're going to find, inside we found a lot of history. "a lot of cutting-edge technology" (of about 50/100 years) ... is a true reunion with the past. I think the island of São Miguel should give more prominence to this small space, however as it is a private space understand the abandonment on the part of the municipality. The owners reveal a huge passion for everything. We went to the site solely because of Geocaching, it's worth it!
