Castle of Braganza, Braganca

(4.5/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Built in 1409 and classified as a national monument, Castle of Braganza represents an outstanding example of medieval architecture. Despite its age, the fortification has withstood elements surprisingly well. Explore the citadel and Old Town, including the church of Santa Maria and the Domus Municipalis. The entire attraction is made up of 15 towers and three gateways. Look for medieval features like the battlements, the railed windows, and the stone carved arms of the Royal House of Avis. Those interested can stop by the on-site military museum. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Castle of Braganza by using our Braganca tourist route planner.

  • It is restored. It is located in the upper area of a hill. The views are very beautiful. Is a fortress with high walls of stone.

  • In addition to the good state of preservation, the castle of Bragança is home to a military museum that also deserves a visit. You can also walk the ramparts and Citadel.
