Write good directions to ruin Let beja behind and go in the direction of Penedo Gordo about 2 km from beja on the left found in indication for a dirt road, continue for 1 km in plentiful and you're there. Now a brief history of the birth of the ruins: in years past all the stones and tiles found in agricultural fields around were put in the same place, then in 2010 as the mountain of pebbles had become so they called a historian to certify that the stones were Romans. The historian gave away free and to make the tourist destination has leggiferato claiming it was a villa. Realizing that slipped by anyone are still awaiting the arrival of unesco to declare it heritage of humanity, for the moment it is closed but if you are lucky there's a lady who speaks only Portuguese which can open up to show you how many stones were in the surrounding fields

Virtually abandoned, without conditions for the visit, there is an urgent need to create conditions so that you don't miss this important patimónio.

Aside from the building of the entrance, with the woman's cats, it's all very abandoned the field. They give you a document and you have to follow the path, and imagine how it was this ancient villa, because really, are a little poor ruins (for someone who does not know at this time). Price: I think remember that € 3

  • This is not yet officially open to the public (Dec 2016)...but you can knock on the door right next to the ruins and talk with Ms. Conceição. She will show it to you and explain everything (you will admire the passion that she has for that place). If you like to see Roman ruins you will love this huge and well preserved house. The downside: it has a bumpy and dirty road to access it.
  • Unfortunately when I tried to visit was closed.
