  • The Museum of Aveiro is a huge surprise. The greatness of the place and the story ends make the visit an amazing time travel. To start the magnificent tomb of Saint Joan Princess: a loving work of marble craftsmen with see little in Portugal. Nothing prepares you for what comes next: the lush, extraordinary, Baroque church of Jesus that should be mandatory for all who visit Aveiro. We have to sit to recover from surprise and to better admire the gilt, the tiles, the organ. Poorly remade and leaving the cost such splendor we climbed the high choir where I saw Christ crucified that impressed me most to this day. The silence. The cloister and the refectory are impressive, the latter, by the quality of the tiles that cover the walls. The Museum's permanent collection is varied and works of painting, sculpture, carving, tile and jewellery. The space of the Museum has been renovated and know harmoniously combine the two worlds represented.
