  • I know the Museum, because there was at least 3 opportunities. An interesting and unique place, as fossils of Trilobites, rare and only found in that place (quarry of Valerius). There's a small fee to visit. Places to eat near and in the town of Arouca (lots of quality in beef-recommend)

  • Of private initiative, belongs to slate quarry, where fossils have been found. Mr. Valerio (owner of the quarry) and his wife (Professor of Earth Sciences in higher education), have the merit of having preserved and maintained the paleontological study of the wealth that has come out of this fossil quarry. The species of trilobites found in the quarry are more than 20 and are about 465 million of years. In the small museum are the largest trilobites of the world patents. Feature, on the one hand by biological causes (polar Gigantism), but also some stretch by forces of geological processes. Mandatory stop on a visit to the region.

  • Worth the visit to learn more about these creatures called Trilobites. It's amazing to get out of the Museum and imagine that milhões years all the surrounding countryside was submerged.

  • No doubt interesting, but ask 4.00 € per person for the input ... I don't think it makes sense.

  • The privilege of having in Portugal the Museum with the biggest trilobites in the world is a pride. It's a rustic space, with great sympathy of the staff. Well worth to your visit!
