Beach
Popular among surfers thanks to its sizeable waves, Odeceixe Beach offers a wealth of opportunities for hitting the water, relaxing on the sand, and enjoy the coastline. Located at the mouth of the Seixe River on the border between the Algarve and Alentejo regions, the beach is a wide, sandy area surrounded by rocky cliffs and bluffs. You'll find, however, that you can access it easily via ramps and stairs from the nearby parking lot. A premier Blue Flag beach in Portugal, it's equipped with public restrooms and showers. You'll find bars, cafes, and stores nearby. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Odeceixe Beach by using our Aljezur itinerary planner.

  • It's a phenomenal Beach. Looks like you're on an island, all surrounded by green. On one side the sea with typical waves and see the river. Across the sand Note If a brutal difference in noise. Has caravan park and a very good support. They have showers and only one toilet and for this reason does not take 5 do you have cleaning maintenance. It's not a beach lifeguard.

  • Beautiful clean beach with lovely sand and plenty of space. Steps down to the beach would make it difficult for some people to access  more »
  • Fantastic beach, to view this view want to stay. Between sea and river you name it. The area of the river is calmer.

  • My favourite beach in Portugal, the place is really beautiful, you can go explore a bit in the rocks (if you cross the river) or just stay at the beach, or the river part if you have smaller children it is less dangerous. Donwside is parking in the summertime (although it does have many more places to park since they renewed it some years back) and if you have to carry a lot of stuff it will be easy going downhill in the morning but coming back up is a really good workout. If you avoid July and August it is normally a peaceful place. Warning: Don't expect the water to be warm and if you cross the river think about the tides because it can be dangerous to cross in high tide, specially if you have stuff that needs to be dry :)
  • Big beach with good facilities. Fair amount of bars and restaurants around. The parking is lacking, but there is space for roadside parking. One distinctive feature is the presence of both a river and sea beach.
  • Soft sand clean beach. Visit in October people were even enjoying the waves.
  • Beautiful beach. Well worth the visit. Stand up paddle boards can be rented for 14 Euros an hour. Not so great for surfing. Great for playing with the kids in the tiny lagoons that are formed on the beach.
  • Stunning. You can really see the fury in the earth expressed in the rock strata.
