  • Castelo de Alcácer do Sal-was built in the late 12th century, when the land is still dominated by the Moors. If you believe the information from the Internet, the Castle once had more than 30 towers. King Alfonso Henriques reconquered this land in the middle of the XII century, but soon the territory was once again is occupied musulmana, then it and the construction of the Castle, which became an important strategic point. The castle was finally captured from the Moors under King Afonso II in 1217 g. I must say I was expecting from this castle. Restored only a relatively small part of the fortress wall, adjacent to the hotel Pousada d. Afonso II. And restored, in my opinion, without proper respect from those who worked on restoration works. Even from afar you can see that plastered walls, and some where the plaster falls off. Who in the middle ages shtukaturil walls? Thanks to its restoration works of this kind, the monuments of antiquity become similar to failed buildings modern builders.

  • My family and I had a great time there. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and it has great history attached to it. The views from the rooms were astonishing and the veranda in the room was a perfect bonus for admiring the views in an early morning with some coffee. Waking up and breathing in the fresh air was a great boost to start the day visiting around Alcácer do Sal which indeed is a very quiet, family-friendly marvelous place. The hotel staff was extremely kind and the rooms and bathrooms were very well cleaned. When we checked in, the rooms smelt very fresh and clean, look wise as well. The food was delicious as well especially the included breakfast. Had a blast, I recommend!
  • All very good except pool not open until June
  • Very very relaxing break. Pretty scenery with Comporta close by for a golden sand beach.
  • Very good presentation with a large garden. About the service I can't talk because I didn't use
