Praia Sao Rafael, Albufeira
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Set along the coast of Portugal's famous Algarve region, Praia Sao Rafael showcases golden sands, restaurants, and imposing limestone cliffs. Visit what is perhaps the country's most popular beach and wander along the secluded waterfront, wading through the shallow water. The gently sloping sand shelf keeps the sea relatively warm. You may want to rent an umbrella and relax for a while, enjoying the view of eroded rock formations and dry bluffs. The beach features restrooms, showers, coffee shops, bars, and a sizeable parking lot for visitors, all easily accessible via boardwalks and stairs. Beautiful beach! Great cliffs on both sides and good rock formations on the beach too. Great for providing shade too. The place is lovely. The beach bar is something else. The food is fantastic! Not too expensive but certainly worth the extra money. You will love it! Highly recommended
Great views, but so crowded (in June at least). Lot of place to swim or place your towel. There are lifeguards, small cafeteria. Very nice place to see.
Great enclosed beach, some real snorkling possibilities along the coast nearby. Quite child friendly unless too high waves (some submerged rocks in the surf). Nice on-beach facilities. Might get crowded in high season.
Gostei muito desta praia. É calma, mas próxima de cidade de Albufeira. O mar também é bastante calmo.
good for some snorkel... some cave to explore if you can squeeze through some 30 cm hole.... sand but not good for castles
