Wander through narrow alleys lined with craft shops and street vendors selling souvenirs, then take a seat and people-watch at one of the bars or restaurants surrounding the quaint central square. • Dreadful place that makes Benidorm look like the South of France. The Strip is horrendous, full of blokes in football tops, tacky bars, stag parties, etc. We were told The Old Town was more mature.....  more

  • We stayed in Albuferia for a week but we were a bit out of the way for the old town. Took a taxi from Oura to here for the day. Think it was about 7 euros if I remember rightly. Make sure you take...

  • Such a lovely place to relax and enjoy the ambience. The square, partially surrounded by bars and restaurants, is lovely especially when live music is being played and its great to be able to sit back, enjoy a few drinks in the sunshine whilst listening to the music and watching the world pass slowly by. The quaint side streets host a wide variety of local shops, which are a pleasure to browse through. The wider precinct is home to more modern shops and easily accessible. The views from the each front restaurants are breath taking, especially at sunset. All in all, a lovely place to visit and relax
  • This place hopefully has something for everyone! There's so many streets to visit, selling a vast array of clothes, souvenirs, food and drink. The beach is close by too. There's many people playing music in the street too, adding to your experience. There's usually one in the tunnel that you can walk through to the fisherman's beach....and the acoustics enhance the music too. At night time the town really comes alive too. There's bars for both young and old, that go onto way into the early hours of the morning. Be aware however that bar prices vary massively in the places around the Square itself. Some places offered a large beer for €2.80 whereas others were happy to charge €6!! Its certainly worth shopping around. If you fancy getting a caricature done whilst you're there, there's a real quirky guy that does it. It does take around 90 mins however for a couple, but we'll worth the €30 price tad in my opinion.
  • Nothing Portuguese about this place. Reminds me of a sunny Blackpool
  • This is a great place to visit day and night. Lots of things going on around the streets and plenty of bars with places to eat. It gets a bit lively in the evening but has a bit more of a festival/carnival atmosphere going on so it would be a safer bet with the family rather than the new strip where it is chaos 😀. There are lots of parts to Albufeira that are really quite lovely and this is definitely one of them.
  • Even though it has changed theme over the years, it's still a lovely and lively area, great to hang out anytime. Plenty of food and Bar outlets, with constant entertainment. Prices not too bad post Covid and current inflation. Great Beach too.. Massive.. And very clean and well kept Enjoy.. Enjoy. 🥂🎉😍🇮🇪
