Moszna Castle, Zielina

#1 of 6 in Historic Sites in Opole Province
The Moszna Castle is a historic castle and residence located in a small village of Moszna in Poland. The castle is one of the best known monuments in the western part of Upper Silesia. The history of this building begins in the 17th century, although much older cellars were found in the gardens during excavations carried out at the beginning of the 20th century. Some of the investigators, including H. Barthel, claimed that those cellars could have been remnants of a presumed Templar castle, but their theory has never been proved. After World War II, further excavations discovered a medieval palisade.

  • A must-I recommend guided-surrounded by a beautiful and well maintained park, a lot of greenery, you can relax-a solid Castle as the Disney land, unique, rich and majestic-not repeatable.

  • Although this is a Palace, not a castle. Tour in the company of a guide is a good idea. Park przedz Palace, very sloppy. Great place for a picnic on the grass in front of the Palace. Parking and admission to the Park (and the same handle to the Palace) paid (one ticket).

  • The castle in Moszna is doing live amazing impression. It is not without reason one of the most beautiful castles in Poland. Being in the vicinity of the Opole regret bypass this place. At the back of the castle there is a huge park, in a stud farm and petting zoo. The castle can be (and is worth!) visited with a guide. Often there are also concerts and special events, and even the nights fears or magical children's camps.

  • Lovely little castle. The park around it is perfect for a walk. Unfortunately many of the treasures got stolen or destroyed during or after the 2. WW. For a one day visit it's great and the hotel located there seems to be also great. Hence could perfectly imagine spending a long weekend end there.
  • Amazing castle - on the outside. The interior hasn't really been restored and simply feels like, well, a hotel. However, in a castle with this much character where they offer tours of the inside you'd expect at least some effort to be put in to restore the original historical atmosphere. Pszczyna Castle is a good example of a job well done.
  • Stunning 18th Century Castle/hotel with beautiful grounds. It is a must-see. The rooms have been individually decorated with period details. There is a breakfast buffet and free car-parking. There's a nice restaurant, sauna and spa area.
  • It's like Dangleic Castle without all the annoyances of having to fight hollows.
  • Beautiful and immaculate grounds, looking forwards to returning!
