Where to stay in Zakopane

Despite its reputation as one of Poland's most popular winter resorts, Zakopane has no shortage of affordable lodgings. Although most hotels hike their prices during the winter holidays, the town's guesthouses or self-catering apartments provide plenty of economical sleeping options. Many locals rent simply furnished rooms in private houses, providing another low-cost alternative for travelers with a limited budget. If you arrive without a reservation, look for rental signs posted outside private homes, or check with the city's main tourist office.

  • Kids loved it here. A good activity after the ski fields. The large green slide is very slow and goes outside the building, so it can get a little cold but you don't have to get out of the water to get back inside where it is warm. On the slides, it can take some time before you can go as the staff won't let another person start the slide until the last person is completely off the slide. If a child goes to early the staff turn off the water on the slide so that the offending child has to hand push themselves down the slide for the rest of the wall. A great way to deter kids from going too soon.
  • Water could be warmer but a good place to enjoy after sport. BUT, the place itself is a TOURIST TRAP ZONE. We got an 1h Normal pool and got 1MINUTE late and we get kicked out because of it and we also had to pay a FEE of 6zl for that. Time start as the cashier pass the entry and not when you are inside the pool. It's NOT written in English and you've to try to explain what you want because they don't want to make an effort to understand you. I've been shout out because I didn't understood what she (the cashier) was saying in Polish when I asked here to repeat. Good points : nice, hot water, fun Bad points : They don't want you to go there if you're a tourist, no English sign
  • Compare to Poprad's a Aqua city or Tatralandia - rubish, unfortunately. But the best available in Zakopane.
  • Very low quality of service provided. Staff very unfriendly, rood, absolutely demotivated. Only one normal person there which was willing to speak and help was manager in duty that day. Young lady helped us to solve our issue... Anyway... Don't go there!
  • It s not bad but the staff could be more polite and speak more English, it s for tourists after all. Didn t like that i had to pay extra for the sauna, it s the first place i ve seen to do that. Would go again tough, the slides are nice.
