Market Square (Rynek), Wroclaw

(4.9/5 based on 2,800+ reviews on the web)
As you admire the elegant townhouses lining Market Square (Rynek), bear in mind that at the end of World War II, this area was little more than a pile of bricks. A symbol of Poland's ability to rise from the ashes, this square underwent careful restoration after the war. See a replica of a medieval pillory used to flog people for over three centuries. Take in the variety of architectural styles, ranging from Baroque to Art Nouvea. At the center of the area, visit the Gothic town hall, considered a masterpiece of medieval architecture. The historic building houses a museum and a basement restaurant. To visit Market Square (Rynek) and other attractions in Wroclaw, use our Wroclaw vacation route planner.

  • This is literally the centre of the city around which all bars, restaurants and activities are located. Truly enchanting place as well.  more »
  • Beautiful square with houses of various colors, very clean and there are often concerts and stalls depending on the occasion, we have even witnessed a sketch of film or documentary, the square offers many places for refreshment and some locals to enjoy the local beer but also Czech, vodka etc.

  • just like in the, as in Warsaw, we have market and here, very well maintained and with interesting architecture. Quite a big + around, it's a lot of space for walking, enjoying the views, the ability to stop in many pubs.
