Market Square (Rynek), Wroclaw
(4.9/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web)
As you admire the elegant townhouses lining Market Square (Rynek), bear in mind that at the end of World War II, this area was little more than a pile of bricks. A symbol of Poland's ability to rise from the ashes, this square underwent careful restoration after the war. See a replica of a medieval pillory used to flog people for over three centuries. Take in the variety of architectural styles, ranging from Baroque to Art Nouvea. At the center of the area, visit the Gothic town hall, considered a masterpiece of medieval architecture. The historic building houses a museum and a basement restaurant. To visit Market Square (Rynek) and other attractions in Wroclaw, use our Wroclaw vacation route planner.

  • Although the weather was not too favorable a visit to the market was very enjoyable. There is always something happening-people are looking for garden gnomes, still someone lets go big and beautiful bubbles:-) Plenty of bars to climate warm up. hot chocolate or something stronger;-) Were it not for the distance wracałabym there every weekend!

  • Wrocław has a beautiful large old town, full of tenement houses, musicians, cafés and restaurants. Both in the morning and in the evening everyone can find something for themselves. In the old town and in the surroundings you will encounter the Dwarfs, which is no small attraction not only for children but also for adults)
