  • We had looked around at the main sights of Wroclaw and we had a few spare hours on our last morning so we took the tram here...a short and easy trip. The film is quite interesting - tells the history ...  more »
  • Centennial Hall in Wrocław has-as the whole town-many twists and turns. designed by Max Berg became a sensation. Today is an icon of architecture. Unusual Dome, an unusual and innovative way of building. All of this can be seen on display at the Cognitive Center. Extremely interesting exhibition presents the entire process of creating this structure. Extremely interesting and extremely innovative. As if that wasn't enough the Centennial has become recently one of the main characters of the book Polish master of detective fiction Brand Krajewski, the creators of the form of Eberhard Mork, Commissioner of the criminal police. The book is called "Mock". In addition to precise, as always in Krajewski, criminal intrigue, we know also the mysteries of the centennial. I strongly recommend-may first book, then visit the Hall. It will have for you less secrets.

  • This is the only UNESCO World Heritage site in the city. Is located across from the Zoo in Wroclaw and is definitely one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city. In my opinion is not as interesting to visit, within a few showrooms with video showing the construction of this particular building. It is now used for sporting events. I recommend only its exterior.

  • CENTENNIAL HALL Centennial Hall was recognised as one of the greatest architectonic achievements of the 20th century. It was designed to serve the citizens of Wrocław and the guests visiting the capital of Lower Silesia. The monumental building was opened in 1913 on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Leipzig, won by the anti-French coalition against Napoleon Bonaparte. On this occasion, Wrocław hosted the Centennial Exhibition. Max Berg, the then city architect, designed a massive exhibition hall built with the use of the novel reinforced concrete technology. The dome of the Hall spans 65m and the building is 42m high. The main hall is surrounded by the corridors. It can fit 10 thousand people. The multifunctional space, unconventional construction, interesting and spacious location are only a few of the Halls assets. The Centennial Hall (Hala Stulecia) is currently one of the most wanted places to organise exhibitions, conferences, congresses, cultural and sporting events from Poland and from abroad. Its significance raised considerably in 2006 when the Hall became a part of UNESCO World Heritage List.
  • A amazing place in Wroclaw. A must see for everyone visiting Wroclaw. Close to the hall there's an amazing park, Japan garden and a zoo
  • Interesting building hosting all kinds of events. When I was there, they had startup labels selling their products and good trucks outside. Also the park in the neighborhood is great for a walk
  • A must-see place in Wroclaw. This hall was built in 1913 to commemorate the defeat of Napoleon army by Germans hundred years earlier. It is a very impressive structure and an important building in a history of modernist architecture. Surrounding area is also worth checking out, because this is an recreational center of Wroclaw - the fountains, main park, the zoo and some other interesting places are few steps aways
  • A really interesting building that was sadly closed when we were there. Still, it's interesting to walk around, and the lovely Japanese garden and multimedia fountain are nearby. Interesting point to note: the huge spike was really constructed to skewer visiting flying saucers from other galaxies, as they were persistently wasting car parking spaces. It's true! What? Oh.
